Personally, I enjoy poetry and music almost the same. I find them to be both inspirational and moving when reading or listening to them. When choosing whether I should write about music or poetry I thought about the different artists I enjoy and one person that stood out to me is Dr. Seuss. As childish as it may sound, I have always been a fan of his work since I was younger. One quote that I like is  “You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose”. I enjoy this quote a lot because it is very relatable and I think it is important for everybody to remember that no matter what your circumstance is, that if you want a goal bad enough it is possible to achieve. In the book, House On Mango Street, Cisneros mentioned that the mother didn’t go on to do anything she thought was worth great in life because she didn’t have the right clothes and was embarrassed of her social class even though she had the brains for it. Even now for me, with the transition from high school to college, I have to sometimes remind myself that I can achieve my goals in class and that although it is hard now, it will be worth it in the end because everything that is worth having does not come easy.

  3. Dr. Seuss is the best. I also grew up reading his book, and admiring his imagination. " it will be worth it in the end because everything that is worth having does not come easy". was my favorite quote from your post. I love how you have such a drive to never give up on yourself, and keep trying to achieve your goal.
