Journal 10-Kyle Smith

My active reading has improved in this book. This book so far is interesting with all these people who do things out of the ordinary. It sometimes can be hard to transition between the different profiles because we are used to reading something that is much longer. I kind of like that there is something to learn about all these different profiles. A common them throughout the book is definitely creativity.

Tommie Bass was the first profile I liked. He had received the nickname herb boy through what he has done for many years. Its always interesting hearing about these other cultures who still use natural remedies such as herbs and acupuncture. I actually have a cool connection to this. There is this guy I worked with at the golf course. It all started out when he realized I had a headache, he could sense it. At first I thought it was kind of bizarre. He says we have aura around our head/body. He says when we gets a headache it gets altered. He swiped his hand over my head and what do you know, it was gone. He gave me this packet full of places for my body and how places relate to each other. Say You have something that hurts in your upper body there would be a place to massage on your foot to remove the pain, this is similar to acupuncture but without the needles.

The second profile was Donald Bean. I like him because he is a good kind of eccentric and his women has to be strong because their life savings was spent on this park. I would like to go on a road trip in the near and visit places like this.

A commonality between the two is not only did they do it for their own interest but they did it for the people around them. In todays society this is still seen as weird. But weird is fun, right?
