Music has always been a
huge part in my life. I’ve played a bunch of different instruments and listen
to music while I do anything. It helps me think and focus and calm down. I would
say it’s a pretty important thing in my life. I listen to all kinds of music
rap, edm, rock you name it. My favorite band is pink Floyd. Ever since I was
little it was my dad’s favorite so I grew up with it playing around me all the
time. Their music I would say is pretty relaxing or some people call it trippy.
Listening to them is like a relaxing boat ride down a steam. Anytime I was mad
or needed to calm down or focus that’s what I would listen to. Their songs have
meaning to them which makes them kind of special. My favorite song by them is Wish You Were Here. This song has lots
of meaning and background to it. Syd Barret one of the band mates was suffering
mentally from his addiction to lsd and left the band. This took a toll on the
band, because it was hard watching someone they were so close to lose his way. This
took a big effect on the band mates Roger Waters and David Gilmour, who
dedicated the album and the song mostly about Syd. You can really relate to
this song if you know anyone who’s had drug troubles or uve lost someone uve
cared about, it really makes you think. My favorite verse from this song is “Just
two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl year after year”. The meaning to that
line is that a relationship between
two people is at a stage where it has no real meaning or enjoyment, but it's
nevertheless accepted because nothing can be done. As I said before I like
to listen to songs with meaning and this one has tons of meaning and feel to it
so that’s why I enjoy it.

I also love the music of Pink Floyd. And as you said, listening to their music " is like a relaxing boat ride down a steam" because of their acid rock instrumentals and vocals. Much of their music is very calming and relaxing and I'm happy you like them as well. They are a truly great band.

ReplyDeleteMusic also helps me "think and focus and calm down" most likely because the music listen to usually is for a purpose like calming down or exercising.
